You may not know, but there has been a lot of discussion lately about wearing a mask. For those of you who are aware of the conversation, some are ok with masks, some are opposed to masks and some wouldn’t be caught without a mask.
Before I reflect on a few of my observations, allow me to first tell you what one of my Preachers, Dr. Bob Williams, told me after a sermon one day. I told Bob I thought his sermon was stepping on my toes a little too much that day and his reply was, “Well Phil, I am usually preaching to myself but if it applies to you, so be it”. Wasn’t exactly the answer I was expecting, but I couldn’t argue with Bob. So… just know, I’m preaching to myself.
If I need my Toyota Tundra worked on, I am going to probably take it to Pitts Toyota to have one of their certified mechanics look at it and tell me what I need to do to have it repaired.
In the same notion, if I am going to have any electronic work done, I am going to call on Dan Loftis at World Hi Fi to advise me.
Last analogy, I promise, but if need any network or computer work done at our office, I would call Alterra Networks to either advise me or fix my problem.
So, if I am going to do these three things with folks that I trust to advise me right about my truck, my TV or my Computer, why in the world wouldn’t I take the advice of local health care providers that I know and trust when it comes to heath issues. In this case, there are several that could and would advise me. And, I can say without hesitating, the medical folks I’ve talked to say “wear a mask”!
Let me close by offering this link to a very interesting article that comes out of South Carolina which, by the way, was given to me by one of those trusted medical folks I mentioned earlier. If you are not wearing a mask and you think I’m trying to convince you to change your mind and wear one yourself, you are absolutely right!!
If you think I am going to be ugly to you, call you bad names, or question your intelligence if you don’t wear a mask, you are wrong. We all must make personal health decisions that we feel are right for ourselves, and I will still love you even if you don’t wear a mask.
Here’s the link:
And by the way, did I ask y’all to please wear a mask??
