What is it about Friday nights? I love a Friday night, and most folks I hang with do too. Cile and I usually do something fun with good friends about every Friday night.
I work most Saturdays till around lunch (which includes a lot of piddling), but even so, Friday’s are still special. Speaking of which, I can’t talk about Saturdays without telling you a story from our newlywed days (soon to be married 38 years ago…I know, she deserves a medal…a big, pretty medal) and our discussion about me working on Saturday mornings.
It was probably the first or second Saturday after we got back from our honeymoon, and as usual, I headed out the door about 7:30am or so. Cile stopped me at the door and asked where I was going. I told her I worked and piddled a little and would be back around lunch. That’s when she explained to me that we were married now and that meant we were supposed to do stuff together on Saturdays. I said to myself…”Well, I’ll give this the ole 100% try…” like I had heard newly married couples were supposed to do.
After two Saturdays of me staying home, Cile decided I would be better doing whatever I had been doing on Saturday mornings and that has worked well for us for 37+ years now. In fact, if I go home before noon on Saturday, she wants to know why I’m home. Go figure.
I wish everyone the best in 2019 and hope you can find time to piddle, work, catch-up, or just chill.Let me know how you spend your time on Fridays and Saturdays. I really would love to hear them.
